With more than 20 years experience as photojournalist, Ken Blackbird has developed an eye for seeking moments that capture the essence of every day life. Throughout his career, Ken has worked in a variety of venues, ranging from newspapers around the country to commercial advertising and political campaigns to movie sets.
Ken has won more than thirty state and national awards recognizing his photographic talents. His images have been published in several periodicals such as Cowboys and Indians Magazine, Native People Magazine, and books published by National Georgraphic, The Aperture Foundation and America 24/7. His talent has earned him exhibition space in both national and international museums and he is widely sought after as a guest lecturer for museums and universities.

Currently, Ken Blackbird's work can be viewed at the British Museum in London, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, and the Utah Musuem of Natural History (opening in 2011).
Ken lives in Cody, Wyoming and enjoys living 50 miles east of Yellowstone National Park. Ken is a Native American photographer and enrolled Assiniboine member of the Fort Belknap Indian Community of Montana. He attended the University of Montana's School of Journalism and earned a B.A. in 1993. Ken also worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a wilderness ranger and wildland fire fighter for several years on the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. His Forest Service tours of duty included the great Yellowstone National Park fires of 1988.
